I was a first time buyer, and now, proud to say a first time homeowner, thanks to Melinda. I was new to this process and she explained why a buyer needs an agent - to protect your interests, negotiating, and her expertise in the area. I was not from Shreveport and moving from Texas - I knew nothing. Being from out of town, when I came to visit we had 20-30 homes to knock out in a few days. I would fall in love with a home and she would point out what I should be concerned about. Whether it being a hill in the backyard I thought was nice and reminding me that when it rains hard it might be an issue, to pointing out things I couldn’t see, roofs, a ceiling that showed signs of leaking, foundation concerns, little things that a buyer can’t see with the naked eye, but because of her expertise and over 2 decades in realty, I ended up with a wonderful property that feels like it was customized for me. Oh, and let me mention her patience and thoughtfulness. Her communication is impeccable, I’m not sure when she sleeps because she was so responsive when I would ask about properties I’d seen on Zillow or ask questions about anything. Also the education and coaching. She gave me reminders and showed me so many local resources. Overall, it was a great experience and if ever I sell or know someone who’s looking for a REALTOR® that will work tirelessly for them whatever the budget, she will treat you like you’re buying a million dollar home. She told me when we were having a hiccup in process due to something on my end, “People matter, things don’t”. She really cares and that’s why she is so good at this. I couldn’t be happier with my new home and the experience she gave me. I will miss touring strangers homes with her!
